Arena Battles is built for competitive players who want a serious, fair, and enjoyable place to compete.
These Community Guidelines establish the standards for how users are expected to behave toward one another across Arena Battles.
They apply to all interactions on or through Arena Battles, including profiles, usernames, team names, messages, match communications, support interactions, disputes, evidence submissions, and other user-generated content.
By using Arena Battles, you agree to follow these Community Guidelines, our Terms of Service, Competition Rules, and other applicable policies.
01Respect Other Players
Players must treat other users with reasonable respect.
Competitive environments can be intense, and disagreement or trash talk may occur. However, competition does not excuse abusive, threatening, discriminatory, or targeted conduct.
Users may not engage in conduct that is intended to seriously intimidate, degrade, threaten, or harass another person.
02Harassment
Harassment is prohibited.
This includes repeated or targeted conduct such as:
- unwanted abusive messages;
- repeated personal attacks;
- following a user across Arena Battles to continue a dispute;
- coordinated harassment;
- targeting someone after they have clearly attempted to disengage;
- encouraging others to harass a user;
- or using Arena Battles features primarily to intimidate or antagonize another person.
A single disagreement or isolated competitive remark will not necessarily constitute harassment.
Arena Battles may consider context, severity, repetition, and intent when reviewing reports.
03Hate Speech and Discriminatory Conduct
Users may not attack, demean, threaten, or promote hatred toward a person or group based on protected characteristics.
This includes conduct targeting characteristics such as:
- race;
- ethnicity;
- national origin;
- religion;
- sex;
- gender;
- gender identity;
- sexual orientation;
- disability;
- or other legally protected characteristics.
Slurs, dehumanizing statements, calls for exclusion or violence, and targeted discriminatory abuse are prohibited.
04Threats and Violence
Users may not make credible threats of violence or encourage others to commit violence.
Prohibited conduct includes:
- threats to physically harm another person;
- threats directed toward a user's family or associates;
- encouraging violence against another player;
- glorifying or encouraging targeted violent acts;
- or attempting to intimidate another person through credible threats.
Competitive statements that are clearly about gameplay are generally distinguishable from real-world threats.
For example, saying that you will "destroy" an opponent in a match is not ordinarily treated as a threat of real-world violence.
Context matters.
05Bullying and Targeted Abuse
Users may not repeatedly target another person with degrading, humiliating, or abusive behavior.
This can include:
- sustained personal insults;
- humiliating a user based on personal information;
- encouraging groups to target a player;
- repeatedly posting embarrassing or demeaning content about someone;
- or targeting a person because of a perceived vulnerability.
Competitive criticism of gameplay is not automatically bullying.
06Competitive Trash Talk
Arena Battles recognizes that trash talk has long been part of competitive gaming.
Reasonable competitive banter is allowed.
However, trash talk may not cross into:
- threats;
- hate speech;
- sustained harassment;
- targeted abuse;
- discriminatory attacks;
- doxxing;
- sexual harassment;
- or other conduct prohibited by these Guidelines.
Players are responsible for understanding the difference between competitive banter and abusive conduct.
07Sexual Harassment and Unwanted Sexual Conduct
Users may not engage in unwanted sexual conduct toward another user.
This includes:
- sexually explicit harassment;
- repeated unwanted sexual comments;
- sexual threats;
- unsolicited sexually explicit content;
- degrading sexual remarks targeted at another person;
- or using Arena Battles to pressure another person into sexual interaction.
Sexually exploitative or non-consensual content is prohibited.
08Personal Information and Doxxing
Users may not publish, threaten to publish, or misuse another person's private information without permission.
This may include:
- home addresses;
- personal phone numbers;
- private email addresses;
- private financial information;
- government identification;
- private account credentials;
- real-time private location;
- or other sensitive personal information.
Attempting to intimidate another user by claiming to possess their personal information may also result in enforcement action.
Publicly available information may still be prohibited when collected or shared primarily to threaten, harass, or endanger someone.
09Impersonation
Users may not impersonate another person, team, organization, Arena Battles employee, moderator, or public figure in a misleading manner.
This includes:
- pretending to be Arena Battles staff;
- creating an account intended to mislead others into believing it belongs to another player;
- impersonating another team;
- or falsely claiming authority on behalf of Arena Battles.
Parody or fan accounts must not intentionally mislead users about their identity or affiliation.
10Usernames, Team Names, and Profile Content
Usernames, team names, bios, profile images, team images, and other public-facing account content must comply with these Guidelines.
Arena Battles may require the removal or modification of content that includes:
- hate speech;
- credible threats;
- explicit sexual content;
- targeted harassment;
- impersonation;
- private personal information;
- illegal content;
- or other seriously inappropriate material.
Arena Battles may rename, hide, restrict, or remove content where necessary.
11Inappropriate and Explicit Content
Users may not upload or distribute content that is pornographic, sexually exploitative, or otherwise clearly inappropriate for the Arena Battles environment.
This includes explicit sexual imagery and content involving sexual exploitation.
Arena Battles may also restrict graphic violent or disturbing imagery where it is not reasonably related to legitimate match evidence or platform use.
12Child Sexual Exploitation
Any content involving the sexual exploitation or abuse of minors is strictly prohibited.
Arena Battles may remove such content immediately and may report suspected unlawful material or conduct to appropriate authorities where required or appropriate.
13Spam
Users may not use Arena Battles to send excessive, repetitive, deceptive, or unwanted communications.
Examples include:
- repeated unsolicited messages;
- challenge spam;
- repetitive promotional messages;
- mass messaging;
- repetitive team invitations;
- or automated communications intended to disrupt another user's experience.
Normal competitive invitations and legitimate team recruiting are permitted when used reasonably.
14Scams and Fraudulent Conduct
Users may not use Arena Battles to deceive other users for financial, competitive, or personal gain.
Prohibited conduct includes:
- phishing;
- fraudulent offers;
- fake giveaways;
- impersonation for financial gain;
- credential theft;
- deceptive links;
- or knowingly false claims intended to obtain money, accounts, items, or sensitive information.
Users should never provide account passwords or authentication credentials to another person.
15Malicious Links and Software
Users may not distribute:
- malware;
- viruses;
- credential-stealing software;
- malicious scripts;
- phishing links;
- or other harmful software or content.
Attempts to compromise another user's device or account may result in immediate suspension.
16Account Security
Users are responsible for maintaining the security of their own accounts.
Users should not:
- share passwords;
- disclose authentication codes;
- permit unauthorized access to their account;
- or intentionally bypass Arena Battles account-security features.
Suspected account compromise should be reported promptly.
Competitive account-sharing rules are addressed separately in the Arena Battles Competition Rules.
17False Reports
Users may report conduct they genuinely believe violates Arena Battles policies.
Users may not knowingly submit false, fabricated, retaliatory, or malicious reports.
Disagreeing with the outcome of a match or dispute does not by itself establish misconduct by another user.
Abuse of reporting systems may result in enforcement action.
18Abuse of Support and Moderation
Users must interact with Arena Battles support and moderation personnel appropriately.
Users may not:
- threaten staff;
- repeatedly submit abusive messages;
- intentionally flood support systems;
- impersonate staff;
- submit fabricated evidence;
- or attempt to manipulate moderation through deception.
Users may disagree with an Arena Battles decision and may use any available appeal process without being penalized merely for challenging a decision in good faith.
19Match and Dispute Conduct
Players must continue to follow these Community Guidelines during competitive disagreements.
This includes:
- match chat;
- pre-match communication;
- post-match communication;
- team communication;
- disputes;
- evidence submissions;
- and communications with moderators.
A disagreement over a result does not permit harassment, threats, or other prohibited behavior.
Competitive rule violations are governed separately by the Arena Battles Competition Rules.
20Team Responsibility
Team leaders and captains are expected to manage their teams responsibly.
Arena Battles may take action involving a team where:
- the team itself is being used to facilitate prohibited conduct;
- multiple members participate in coordinated abuse;
- the team identity violates these Guidelines;
- or team leadership knowingly enables serious misconduct.
Individual misconduct does not automatically result in punishment of every team member.
Arena Battles may consider the extent of participation and knowledge of each person involved.
21Coordinated Abuse
Users may not organize or encourage coordinated harassment, mass reporting, intimidation, or other abusive campaigns against another user or group.
Mass reporting does not determine whether a violation occurred.
Reports are evaluated based on available evidence and applicable policies.
22Evasion of Enforcement
Users may not attempt to avoid an Arena Battles restriction or suspension by:
- creating alternate accounts;
- using another person's account;
- transferring team control solely to bypass restrictions;
- or otherwise circumventing enforcement measures.
Attempts to evade enforcement may result in additional action.
23Illegal Activity
Users may not use Arena Battles to facilitate unlawful activity.
This may include:
- fraud;
- theft;
- threats;
- unauthorized access to computer systems;
- trafficking in stolen accounts;
- or other unlawful conduct.
Arena Battles may cooperate with lawful requests from authorities where required.
24Reporting Violations
Users who encounter conduct that may violate these Community Guidelines should use Arena Battles reporting or support tools where available.
Reports should be made in good faith and include relevant information where possible.
Arena Battles may consider:
- platform records;
- messages;
- uploaded evidence;
- account history;
- previous enforcement;
- and other reasonably relevant information.
25Enforcement
Violations of these Community Guidelines may result in action including:
- content removal;
- warnings;
- communication restrictions;
- feature restrictions;
- temporary suspensions;
- permanent account bans;
- team-related restrictions;
- or other appropriate measures.
The severity of action may depend on factors such as:
- seriousness of the conduct;
- intent;
- repetition;
- harm caused;
- previous violations;
- attempts to evade enforcement;
- and cooperation during review.
Serious misconduct may result in immediate suspension or permanent removal without a prior warning.
Additional details regarding penalties, appeals, and enforcement procedures will be addressed in the Arena Battles Enforcement Policy.
26No Guarantee of Action
Arena Battles may review reports and investigate suspected violations, but submitting a report does not guarantee that enforcement action will be taken.
Arena Battles may determine that:
- the available evidence is insufficient;
- the conduct does not violate these Guidelines;
- additional context is required;
- or another policy applies instead.
Arena Battles may also take action based on conduct discovered independently of a user report.
27Policy Updates
Arena Battles may update these Community Guidelines as the platform, community, and available features evolve.
Material changes may be communicated through the platform.
Continued use of Arena Battles after updated Guidelines become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated rules where permitted by law.
