This Enforcement Policy explains how Arena Battles may respond to violations of its rules, policies, and competitive standards.
Arena Battles is operated by Arena Battles LLC ("Arena Battles," "we," "us," or "our").
This policy applies to violations of the Arena Battles Terms of Service, Competition Rules, Community Guidelines, Acceptable Use Policy, and other applicable platform policies.
The purpose of enforcement is to protect fair competition, player safety, platform integrity, and the overall Arena Battles community.
01General Enforcement Approach
Arena Battles may take enforcement action when we determine that a user, team, account, or other participant has violated an applicable rule or policy.
Enforcement is based on the circumstances of each case.
Arena Battles may consider factors including:
- severity of the conduct;
- intent;
- competitive impact;
- harm caused;
- whether the conduct was repeated;
- prior enforcement history;
- attempts to conceal misconduct;
- cooperation during review;
- whether other users were involved;
- whether the conduct affected match results or rankings;
- and whether immediate action is necessary to protect users or the platform.
Not every violation will result in the same penalty.
02Available Enforcement Actions
Depending on the circumstances, Arena Battles may take one or more actions including:
- issuing a warning;
- removing or restricting content;
- requiring a username, team name, image, or profile change;
- restricting messaging or other features;
- invalidating a match result;
- cancelling a match;
- awarding a forfeit;
- removing improperly obtained wins;
- adjusting rankings;
- adjusting XP;
- restricting ladder participation;
- restricting team participation;
- temporarily suspending competitive access;
- temporarily suspending an account;
- permanently banning an account;
- restricting or disbanding a team;
- preventing creation or control of additional teams;
- removing privileges;
- or taking other reasonable action necessary to protect the platform or community.
Multiple actions may apply to the same incident.
03Warnings
Arena Battles may issue a warning when misconduct is relatively minor and does not require immediate stronger action.
A warning may:
- explain the violated rule;
- direct the user to stop the conduct;
- require corrective action;
- or inform the user that repeated violations may result in stronger enforcement.
Arena Battles is not required to issue a warning before taking stronger action.
04Content Removal and Modification
Arena Battles may remove, hide, restrict, or require modification of content that violates platform policies.
This may include:
- usernames;
- team names;
- bios;
- profile images;
- team images;
- messages;
- uploaded evidence;
- or other user-generated content.
Where appropriate, Arena Battles may temporarily replace or hide content while a review is ongoing.
05Match-Level Enforcement
Violations that affect a specific match may result in match-related penalties.
Possible actions include:
- confirming the original result;
- reversing a result;
- issuing a forfeit;
- cancelling the match;
- requiring a replay;
- invalidating the match;
- removing a win or loss from competitive records;
- or making other result corrections.
Arena Battles may consider whether the violation affected the competitive outcome.
A policy violation does not automatically require a match result to be changed if the misconduct did not affect competitive integrity.
06Ranking and XP Corrections
Arena Battles may correct rankings, XP, records, statistics, or similar progression where they were obtained through misconduct, fraud, manipulation, system errors, or invalid competition.
Corrections may include:
- removing improperly earned XP;
- reversing ranking gains;
- correcting win/loss records;
- removing invalid achievements;
- or restoring affected competitors where reasonably possible.
Corrections are not necessarily considered additional punishment when they are used to restore accurate competitive records.
07Competitive Restrictions
Arena Battles may restrict a user from participating in certain competitive features while allowing other account features to remain available.
Restrictions may include:
- a specific ladder;
- a game title;
- team competition;
- solo competition;
- challenges;
- match creation;
- result submission;
- or other competitive functionality.
Competitive restrictions may be temporary or permanent.
08Temporary Suspensions
Arena Battles may temporarily suspend an account or competitive access.
The length of a suspension may depend on factors including:
- severity;
- repetition;
- previous warnings;
- competitive impact;
- user safety;
- and attempts to evade enforcement.
Arena Battles may suspend an account while an investigation is pending where continued access may create a material risk to users, competition, evidence, or platform integrity.
09Permanent Bans
Serious or repeated violations may result in permanent account removal.
Conduct that may justify a permanent ban includes, depending on the circumstances:
- serious cheating;
- repeated cheating;
- match fixing;
- coordinated competitive manipulation;
- severe fraud;
- credible threats of violence;
- severe harassment;
- sexual exploitation;
- distribution of malicious software;
- serious doxxing;
- repeated enforcement evasion;
- large-scale abuse of Arena Battles systems;
- or other conduct that creates a serious risk to users or the platform.
Arena Battles is not required to issue prior warnings or temporary suspensions before a permanent ban in serious cases.
10Cheating Enforcement
Cheating may result in strong competitive enforcement.
Depending on the evidence and seriousness of the violation, Arena Battles may:
- forfeit affected matches;
- invalidate results;
- remove wins;
- correct rankings;
- remove XP or achievements;
- restrict competitive participation;
- temporarily suspend the user;
- permanently ban the user;
- or take action involving teams that knowingly participated in or benefited from the misconduct.
Suspected cheating may be investigated using platform records, match evidence, gameplay information, account history, and other relevant information.
11Match Fixing and Collusion
Match fixing, win trading, collusion, intentional losses for competitive benefit, and similar manipulation may result in severe enforcement.
Possible actions include:
- invalidating affected matches;
- reversing ranking or XP changes;
- forfeits;
- competitive suspensions;
- account bans;
- team penalties;
- removal from ladders;
- or other corrective actions.
Arena Battles may take action against all users who knowingly participated in the manipulation.
12Boosting and Ranking Manipulation
Users who manipulate competition to artificially increase rankings, XP, records, achievements, or another user's standing may face enforcement.
Arena Battles may:
- remove improperly obtained progress;
- invalidate affected competition;
- restrict competitive access;
- suspend participating accounts;
- or take stronger action for repeated or coordinated abuse.
13Harassment, Threats, and Safety Violations
Violations involving harassment, hate speech, threats, doxxing, sexual harassment, or other harmful behavior may result in:
- warnings;
- communication restrictions;
- content removal;
- temporary suspensions;
- permanent bans;
- or other protective measures.
Arena Battles may prioritize immediate user safety over completing a full review before temporary restrictions are imposed.
14Fraud, Scams, and Malicious Conduct
Fraudulent or malicious conduct may result in immediate strong enforcement.
This includes:
- phishing;
- credential theft;
- scams;
- malware distribution;
- fraudulent evidence;
- impersonation for financial or competitive gain;
- unauthorized access;
- or similar deceptive conduct.
Arena Battles may permanently restrict accounts involved in serious fraud or malicious activity.
15False Reports and Evidence Abuse
Knowingly submitting false reports, fabricated evidence, manipulated screenshots, misleading recordings, or retaliatory complaints may result in enforcement.
Arena Battles distinguishes between:
- a good-faith report that cannot be proven;
- a mistaken report;
- and a knowingly false or fabricated report.
Users are not penalized merely because a report does not result in action.
16Enforcement Evasion
Attempting to evade Arena Battles enforcement may result in additional penalties.
Examples include:
- creating alternate accounts after suspension;
- using another user's account;
- creating or controlling teams through another person;
- re-registering under a different identity;
- or otherwise attempting to bypass restrictions.
Arena Battles may apply enforcement to accounts reasonably connected to evasion activity.
17Team Enforcement
Teams may be subject to enforcement where the team itself is involved in misconduct.
Arena Battles may consider:
- whether team leadership knew of the misconduct;
- whether multiple members participated;
- whether the team benefited competitively;
- whether the team was used to facilitate abuse;
- and whether reasonable corrective action was taken.
Possible team-related actions include:
- match forfeits;
- invalidation of results;
- removal from ladders;
- team restrictions;
- leadership restrictions;
- roster restrictions;
- or disbanding the team.
Individual misconduct does not automatically result in penalties against uninvolved teammates.
18Captain and Leadership Responsibility
Captains and team leaders may have additional responsibility where they knowingly facilitate, organize, conceal, or enable violations.
A captain is not automatically liable for every action taken by another team member.
However, Arena Battles may consider whether leadership:
- knew of misconduct;
- encouraged it;
- participated in it;
- failed to stop coordinated abuse;
- or knowingly benefited from competitive manipulation.
19Repeat Violations
Repeated violations may result in progressively stronger enforcement.
Arena Battles may consider prior:
- warnings;
- suspensions;
- competitive restrictions;
- content removals;
- match penalties;
- or other enforcement actions.
The absence of a recent violation does not necessarily erase prior enforcement history.
20Severe First-Time Violations
Some conduct may justify strong action even when the user has no previous enforcement history.
Examples may include:
- serious cheating;
- match fixing;
- credible threats;
- severe doxxing;
- malicious software;
- sexual exploitation;
- serious fraud;
- or significant coordinated abuse.
Arena Battles does not guarantee a progressive-warning system.
21Investigations
Arena Battles may investigate suspected violations based on:
- user reports;
- match disputes;
- platform activity;
- automated signals;
- staff observations;
- evidence submissions;
- account relationships;
- unusual competitive patterns;
- or other reasonably relevant information.
Arena Battles may review records reasonably necessary to determine whether a policy violation occurred.
22Evidence
Arena Battles may consider evidence including:
- screenshots;
- recordings;
- platform records;
- messages;
- account activity;
- match data;
- result submissions;
- check-in records;
- evidence uploads;
- moderation history;
- public statements;
- or other relevant information.
Arena Battles determines the weight and reliability of evidence.
No single type of evidence is guaranteed to be decisive.
23Temporary Protective Action
Arena Battles may temporarily restrict an account, team, feature, or piece of content before completing a full investigation when reasonably necessary to:
- protect users;
- preserve evidence;
- prevent continued cheating;
- stop ongoing abuse;
- prevent manipulation of competition;
- or protect platform security.
Temporary action does not necessarily mean a final determination has been made.
24Notice of Enforcement
Where reasonably appropriate, Arena Battles may notify a user when enforcement action is taken.
A notice may include:
- the action taken;
- the general reason;
- the policy involved;
- duration, where applicable;
- and available appeal information.
Arena Battles may limit information where disclosure could:
- compromise security;
- expose another user's private information;
- interfere with an investigation;
- reveal anti-abuse methods;
- or create other legitimate risks.
25Appeals
Arena Battles may provide users with an opportunity to appeal certain enforcement decisions.
An appeal should explain why the user believes the decision was incorrect and may include relevant additional evidence.
Submitting an appeal does not automatically suspend or reverse enforcement.
Arena Battles may reject appeals that are:
- abusive;
- repetitive;
- fraudulent;
- unrelated to the enforcement decision;
- or unsupported by any meaningful new information.
26Appeal Review
Appeals may be reviewed using:
- the original evidence;
- enforcement history;
- information submitted in the appeal;
- newly available evidence;
- and applicable policies.
Arena Battles may:
- uphold the original decision;
- reduce the penalty;
- modify the enforcement action;
- reverse the decision;
- or request additional information.
27Final Decisions
Arena Battles may designate an appeal decision as final.
Repeated submissions regarding a final decision do not require additional review unless meaningful new information becomes available.
Nothing in this policy prevents Arena Battles from correcting an enforcement decision later if we discover a material error.
28Enforcement Errors
If Arena Battles determines that an enforcement action was taken incorrectly, we may:
- restore account access;
- remove restrictions;
- restore competitive records;
- correct rankings or XP;
- reinstate content;
- or take other reasonable corrective action.
Arena Battles may not always be able to fully restore effects caused by an incorrect action, but we will make reasonable efforts where appropriate.
29No Guarantee of a Specific Penalty
Arena Battles does not guarantee that a particular violation will always produce a particular penalty.
Examples and possible actions in this policy are illustrative.
Arena Battles may impose different enforcement based on:
- context;
- severity;
- user history;
- competitive impact;
- safety concerns;
- evidence;
- and other relevant circumstances.
This flexibility is intended to allow proportionate and fair enforcement.
30No Guarantee of Enforcement
A report or suspected violation does not guarantee enforcement action.
Arena Battles may determine that:
- no violation occurred;
- evidence is insufficient;
- the conduct falls outside our policies;
- additional investigation is required;
- or no additional action is appropriate.
Arena Battles may also take action without receiving a user report.
31Confidentiality and Privacy
Arena Battles generally does not disclose another user's private enforcement history or account information to reporting users.
A person who submits a report may not receive detailed information about:
- another user's suspension;
- account status;
- appeal;
- investigation;
- or other private account matters.
Arena Battles may communicate limited outcome information where appropriate.
32Law Enforcement and Legal Obligations
Arena Battles may preserve, disclose, or provide information where required by law or valid legal process.
Arena Battles may also contact or cooperate with appropriate authorities when we reasonably believe circumstances involve serious threats, exploitation, fraud, or other unlawful activity.
33Relationship to Competition Results
Behavioral enforcement and competitive-result enforcement are separate.
For example:
- a player may receive a behavioral suspension without a match result being changed;
- a match may be forfeited without requiring a full account suspension;
- or cheating may result in both a match correction and an account penalty.
Arena Battles may apply any combination of actions appropriate to the circumstances.
34Policy Updates
Arena Battles may update this Enforcement Policy as the platform, community, and competitive systems evolve.
Material changes may be communicated through Arena Battles.
Updated enforcement standards generally apply to conduct occurring after the updated policy becomes effective, except where immediate application is reasonably necessary to protect safety, security, or competitive integrity.
